A free multi-week education & support program designed to help those who want to stop smoking  

(commit to attending all classes)

Facilitated by Maria Haffely, BSN, RN, OCN®, CTTS

 

All sessions will be held at UPMC Passavant (McCandless) in the Cancer Center Conference Room (ground floor)

 

 

 


This program covers:

  1.  Know your stats – stages and strategies for change

  2.  Facts about tobacco – health consequences of using tobacco & benefits of quitting

  3.  Quit smoking aids – over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapies & prescription medicines

  4.  Lifestyle strategies – obstacles to quitting & coping with nicotine withdrawal

  5.  Commitment to quitting – relapse prevention

This course has 3 to 5 weekly 1-hour classes (depending on the size and needs of the group) - please commit to attending all of the classes. 

Held in the Cancer Center Conference Room of UPMC Passavant McCandless (park in front lot, enter Cancer Center entrance, take the elevators to "G" and walk straight ahead into the Conference Room)
