Breastfeeding Support Group at UPMC Horizon

Support Group is Cancelled

UPMC is committed to the health and safety of our patients, visitors and staff.   To decrease potential spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and limit traffic throughout the hospital and other meeting locations, we are cancelling this support group until further notice.

This breastfeeding support group empowers women who chose to breastfeed their baby an opportunity to meet and get help/support from other breastfeeding women.

A Certified Lactation Consultant/Registered Nurse/Certified Lactation Counselor/Certified Breastfeeding Specialist will be available and lead a discussion of today's breastfeeding issues.

So, if it's finding a solution to your breastfeeding issues, getting reassurance that all is going well or just an opportunity to see how much the baby is getting from the breast after feeding via baby weight checks, this 2 hour meeting time may be for you.

Open to any breastfeeding mother and her baby up to the infant's first birthday. Due to limited space, please do not bring the baby's siblings.

Please register yourself and your female support support person so we have an accurate count for this meeting.

If you have questions, please call Lynn McGahan, IBCLC at 724-983-7962  UPMC Horizon or Jeanie Mills at 724-658-4688 Children Advocacy Center or 724-6981935 Nurse-Family Partnership
