Introduction

The High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) Workforce Summit is a gathering of the HFW workforce in Pennsylvania, sponsored by the Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI). This will be an opportunity for workforce members to meet with their HFW counterparts from across the state. The entire workforce will advance their skills and knowledge through role discussions and sharing experiences.


Educational Objectives

At the completion of this program, participants should be able to:

1. Identify new strategies to engage and utilize a team effectively

2. Apply techniques to build engagement with those who experienced trauma

3. Demonstrate meaningful information gathering in comfortable conversations

 

Who Should Attend:


Day One (November 20, 2019)

High Fidelity Wraparound coaches, facilitators, family support partners, youth support partners, YFTI advisory board members, and agency, county, managed care, System of Care partners from current counties implementing HFW or counties who are interested in learning more about HFW.

Keynote Speaker: Scott P. Sells, PhD

Dr. Sells is a former tenured Professor of Social Work, Savannah State University, Savannah, GA and Associate Professor at UNLV in Las Vegas, NV. Dr. Sells is the author of three best-selling books, Treating the Tough Adolescent: A Family-Based, Step-by-Step Guide (1998), Parenting Your Out-of-Control Teenager: 7 Steps to Reestablish Authority and Reclaim Love (2001), and Treating the Traumatized Child: A Step-by-Step Family Systems Approach (Springer, 2017). He has over 20 publications in such periodicals as Psychotherapy Networker, Contemporary Corrections, Journal of Child and Adolescent Substance Abuse, Professional Issues in Criminal Justice, Family Process, and Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, plus book chapters in the Handbook of Family Therapy Research Methods (1996) and Social Worker’s Desk Reference, 2/E (2008.)

Dr. Sells has extensive experience as a keynote speaker for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the National Association of Social Workers the Southeastern Psychological Association, and others. He was invited to be one of six expert presenters at the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy’s prestigious Summer Institutes as well as the world-renowned Cape Cod Institute. Dr. Sells is currently the founder and model developer of an evidence-based model known as the FST | Family Systems Trauma Model that is being used by both juvenile justice and child welfare in over 14 states and in Europe.

Participants must attend the full program to be awarded 6.0 continuing education (CE) credits. Participants will be awarded CE credits for the time they are in attendance:
Day One - 3.5 credits; Day Two - 2.5 credits

Continuing Education Credits

Psychologists
Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This program is being offered for up to 6.0 continuing education credits.

Counselors
Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5059. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is solely responsible for all aspects of this program. This program is being offered for up to 6.0 continuing education hours.

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors/Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professionals: CADC/CCDP
The Office of Education and Regional Programming, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is certified by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) to provide Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and Certified Co- occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) continuing education credits. This program is being offered for up to 6.0 continuing education credits.

Licensed/Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists: LSW/LCSW/LPC/LMFT

The indicated number of clock hours of continuing education (up to 6.0) is provided through UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital Office of Educational Resources and Planning, a PA-approved provider of social work continuing education in accordance with all the applicable educational and professional standards of the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist.  These clock hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC and LMFT renewal.  For more information, call (412) 204-9084.

Other Healthcare Professionals
Nurses and other health care professionals are awarded up to .60 Continuing Education Units (CEU's). One CEU is equal to 10 contact hours. Nurses: For attending this program you will receive a Certificate of Attendance confirming up to 6.0 hours of continuing education. These hours may be considered eligible for completing the 30 hours of continuing education required for biannual nursing re-licensure in Pennsylvania. Peer Specialists: This program fulfills requirements for Certified Peer Specialist continuing education.

 All participants must complete the online survey to help inform the course directors of future programming.

General CEU and CADC Certificates will be available once the program has ended.

 All other certificates will be sent via e- mail to participants four to six weeks after the event, and after the online survey has been completed.

Please keep your certificate in a safe place once you receive it. Replacement certificates cost $30.
