Bowel Management Workshop at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC 2020


Does your child suffer constipation or fecal incontinence due to Hirschsprung disease, anorectal malformation, or spina bifida? The Bowel Management Workshop presented by the Colorectal and Hirschsprung Center for Children at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has been developed to help patients and families better understand these issues and achieve a better quality of life and social integration.

We are currently registering patients, parents, legal guardians, caregivers, and health care professionals.  All sessions are held from 8 a.m. until noon.

Space is limited; pre-registration is required. 

At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

•  Identify the principles of anorectal defects and Hirschsprung disease
•  Identify the principles of constipation and fecal incontinence
•  Identify the principles of colitis in Hirschsprung disease
•  Identify the principles and rationale of the Bowel Management Program
•  Discuss the challenges of long-term care
