Bloodless Medicine and Surgery at UPMC - Personal Choice Matters

Description

Our Bloodless Medicine and Surgery program is built on a vision of community outreach. In order to achieve this goal of cultivating neighborhood relationships, we will continue hosting community educational seminars.  These seminars are geared towards patients who refuse blood transfusions because of personal choice or religious beliefs.  The audience will receive information and materials designed to help patients easily communicate personal blood choices with their healthcare providers .

This year we have the unique opportunity to have a Perfusionist speak at our seminars. Our special guests will review information regarding procedures that use your own blood, and  an exclusive live demonstration of the "Cell Saver" procedure!
